Letters, He Got Letters

Three items worth noting today:
- First: an important call for papers for what is shaping up to be the premiere C. S. Lewis Scholarly Event of the Year in Wake Forest, NC.
I am privileged to be one of the three plenary speakers, who include Walter Hooper and James Como.
- Note the publication of The Collected Letters of C. S. Lewis: Volume 3: Narnia, Cambridge, and Joy.. Will Vaus has a nice intro and reflection on it here in his Jan. 25 entry for his blog. I will be publishing my review here soon.
- Pan’s Labyrinth, the new fairy tale for adults (“adult” here means what it means in Lewis’s preface to That Hideous Strength) is getting some attention as a movie fantasy that Lewis and Tolkien “would like.” I’ve seen it, and will be publishing a review in a new section for this blog to be entitled, “Inklings @ the Movies,” coming soon as a link off of this page.
